Launch of “Community-led Development in Practice”

MCLD celebrated the launch of a new volume on community-led development at our January Global Call.

This volume, published by Routledge, brings together the work of over 30 community-led development practitioners, academics, NGO leaders, and even community leaders from around the globe.

At a time when organizations and institutions are grappling with the “how to” of shifting power and localizing, this new volume offers both practical insights and operational frameworks. Voices of practitioners and academics in the development sector from both Majority and Minority World contexts offer a nuanced exploration of what it truly means to empower communities from within.

Whether you’re a development professional, policymaker, or academic, this book offers valuable insights into the transformative power of community-led initiatives. It is an essential resource for those committed to inclusive and sustainable development that puts people at the center of change.

Authors and editors of the volume joined us at the launch event to share insights and background information from their chapters.
