16 Days of Activism Across the Globe with MCLD

On December 4, MCLD hosted a special call on the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence (GBV) designed by our members.

Inspired by this year’s theme, UNiTE to End Digital Violence against All Women and Girls, MCLD members came together to unpack what GBV looks like, the harmful role technology can play, and the preventative measures we can take. Technological gender-based violence is a reality that needs to be addressed urgently. Members from Asia, East Africa, Southern Africa, and Latin America and the Caribbean guided our discussions on how we can all be advocates for digital resilience.

Speakers included:

  • Nancy Waweru, Vijana Amani Pamoja (Kenya)
  • Cecilia Campos Villafani, ILLA (Bolivia)
  • Curneshy Mmadi, MCLD Youth Task Force (Malawi)
  • Chathuranga Jayasinghe, Changing Seeds (Sri Lanka)
  • Namya Gunawardena, MCLD
