At MCLD, we recognize that the most important work for systems transformation happens in communities and in countries. Our National Associations are a space for collective action and solidarity, where local organizations partner with allies to facilitate community-led development and encourage their governments to adopt policies and budgets that support local organizations. They are self-governed and self-directed, with elected boards and an annual general meeting where members exercise collective decision-making.
MCLD National Associations:
- Elect members to our Global Assembly
- Provide a space for collective action and mobilization within a country
- Offer peer support and learning
- Lead strong advocacy campaigns, co-created by members
- Work with local governments to support responsive governance
- Showcase a new way of working together
- Enable consortiums and partnerships between various stakeholders for effective implementation of programs
