A major theme at the 2022 Global Health Council’s Landscape Symposium has been health equity. We in MCLD believe that the only way to ensure people’s right to health is to ensure they have the collective voice to demand it. We organized a concurrent session at the symposium to address the question — now that USAID has committed to supporting CLD, how can we remove the barriers to making it happen?
This vibrant conversation with symposium participants included:
- Gunjan Veda, Director, Collaborative Research, Policy and Practice | The Movement for Community-led Development
- Chris Collins, President and CEO | Friends of the Global Fight Against AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria
- Crystal Lander, Chief Strategic Engagement Officer | Pathfinder International
- Wubshet Loha, Associate Director, Advocacy, Africa | Global Health Advocacy Incubator
One key takeaway is that there are lessons to be learned from the Global Fund — that you can build in civil society and community engagement into the governance structures. Please watch this amazing discussion!
