Self-Reliance

We strengthen local networks and organizations through an intentional focus on well-being, strong governance processes, and resource mobilization.

We strive to ensure that our National Associations are resilient, can respond to shocks, and are sustainable. Our goal is to consistently strengthen the sustainability of MCLD and our members.

Our Focus Areas:

  1. Domestic Resource Mobilization
  2. Creating value-aligned organizational structures
  3. Mental Health and Well-being

Current initiatives within those areas include:

Shaping our New Leaders

Through the Youth Task Force and the Inter-generational Mentoring network we are facilitating knowledge sharing across cultures, countries and communities to shape the next generation of leaders who will uphold justice and equity.

Malawi Youth Task Force Chess Fellowship

A one-year fellowship that comprises chess trainings for youth from Malawi and culminates in a tournament at the end of the year.

A Global Call Series on Wellbeing

MCLD is committed to fostering spaces and sharing resources to support members in managing stress, preventing burnout, supporting well-being, and promoting care. In our call series on wellbeing, our goal is to connect members to resources, facilitate practitioners from multiple cultural perspectives to offer services, and provide spaces for decompression and connection.
