In the United States, MCLD is a civil society initiative comprising US-based organizations with a strong and public commitment to community-led development, and to making a significant contribution to MCLD collective action both in the US and to our sister National Associations worldwide. It is a IRS 501c3 independent tax-exempt non-profit membership association eligible for tax-deductible contributions (EIN 92-2398648) and is incorporated in Virginia.

2023 Finances

Our transition to an independent 501c3 began and was completed in 2023. Most of our expenses continued to be covered, for a final year, by The Hunger Project. MCLD-US began its own fundraising in 2023 and accrued a small amount of final expenses ourselves.
