Looking for Spanish and Portuguese Interpreters

The Movement for Community-Led Development (MCLD) is seeking skilled interpreters to join our team on a freelance basis. Currently, we are seeking simultaneous interpretation services for the following language combinations:
– Spanish to French (both directions)
– Spanish to Portuguese (both directions)
– Spanish to English (both directions)
Additionally, proficiency in English is required as it is our working language.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide consecutive and simultaneous interpretation between the required language pairs
  • Ensure accurate conveying of original messages while maintaining meaning, tone and style
  • Interpret for meetings, conferences, workshops and other events

Required Qualifications:

  • Native-level fluency in Spanish and at least one of the following languages: Spanish, French, Portuguese
  • Fluency in spoken English
  • Previous interpretation experience and knowledge of Zoom
  • Strong active listening abilities and quick grasp of context
  • Experience with relevant interpretation equipment and technologies

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience interpreting for international development, human rights or social movements
  • Ability to work calmly under pressure and quick turnaround situations
